'Hurriyat leaders, AAC members to accompany chief cleric'

Srinagar, April 07 (KNO) : In a significant development, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has decided to leave for New Delhi tomorrow to face the NIA questioning session.   However, he will be accompanied by all the Hurriyat leaders and some Awami Action Committee leaders, top sources revealed to KNO. The decision was taken after a threadbare meeting of all the Hurriyat leaders, activists, and also AAC leaders and members at Mirwaiz Manzil Nigeen.  Sources said that it was decided Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will go to Delhi and face the NIA questioning regarding the alleged militancy funding case.  “But Hurriyat leaders told him that they will accompany him to Delhi while some AAC leaders will also travel along with Mirwaiz," top sources told KNO.  The decision that Mirwaiz will fly to Delhi comes close on the heels of NIA's third notice to chief cleric where in the investigating agency had assured him of proper security cover.  Earlier, Mirwaiz lawyer had shot written responses to NIA citing hostile atmosphere and security concern as a major reason why Mirwaiz can’t travel to Delhi.(KNO)
